This new multimedia play will connect you with what is happening now in the Amazonian rainforest and we see the devastation through the Indigenous peoples\u2019 eyes.<br><br>\r\n\r\nThe partnership comprises of award winning drama group and fringe veterans Pump House CYT, Warner Bros., environmental organization Plan it Eco and renowned eco centre Sani Lodge in the Ecuadorian Amazon.<br><br>\r\n\r\nWe are all aware of the situation with the rainforest and deforestation but are we aware that the <strong>pollution <\/strong>caused from oil exploration and illegal loggers is speeding the devastation and this is a real concern to the Indigenous Indians and affects their way of life.<br><br>\r\n\r\nBased on a concept by Sharon Gaffney and written by former TV producer Phil Williams from Plan it Eco (adapted by Sharon Gaffney and Karen Rhodes) Phil has now made this his life\u2019s work to educate businesses, schools and colleges to the plight of the indigenous people and often takes groups to the Amazon to experience the situation first hand.<br><br>\r\n\r\nFor the first time ever, we will have a Kichwa Indian coming to Edinburgh. Javier is a guide in the Amazon and the Rainforest is his home.\u00a0 He comes from the tribe of Kichwa Indians and has learned exceptional English to be a guide and he will be in Edinburgh to explain to the audiences what is happening first hand.\u00a0 It will be an amazing experience for him but also for our young people and the audiences of Edinburgh to have this opportunity to speak to an indigenous Indian direct.<br><br>\r\n\r\nWarner Bros. saw this multimedia project bringing young people together with Javier to deliver a message on how everyone can help with environmental sustainability, and immediately decided to support the project to bring this message to a wider audience at the Edinburgh Fringe.<br><br>\r\n\r\n<em>Rainforest Dreams and is about<\/em> <em>a group of students find themselves transported to the Rainforest, to find they are running for their lives as soon as they arrive. With footage from real indigenous Indians of the Amazonian Rainforest (especially filmed for this production) we share what happens to the people living with the oil exploration and the illegal logging on an everyday basis. On screen they interact with the students giving a real insight into how they live.\u00a0 Threatened with their lives will this group of teenagers do the right thing, or will they succumb to the illegal loggers and oilmen\u2019s demands? Our aim is to provide young people of all backgrounds the opportunity to perform on stage. We strive to achieve the highest standards possible while keeping an enjoyable, learning environment.\u00a0We do several productions a year including everything from mimes &amp; improvisation through to large scale musicals.
